Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseev of the Ministry of Defense was hospitalized in Moscow after an assassination attempt on him.
This was reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia, writes "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Russian propaganda media.
It is specified that the incident took place on February 6 in one of the residential buildings in Moscow. According to the IC, an unknown person shot General Alekseev several times and fled. The victim was taken to one of the capital’s hospitals.
Later, the media reported that Lieutenant General Vladimir Alexeyev is in serious condition after the assassination attempt in Moscow – doctors are fighting for his life.
Investigators are currently searching for the suspect. Forensic experts are working at the scene, CCTV footage is being studied, and witnesses are being questioned. A criminal case has been opened under the article on attempted murder of a high-ranking Defense Ministry official.
According to media reports, the victim holds the position of first deputy head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) of the Russian Armed Forces. It is reported that the killer was waiting for the officer near a residential building on Volokolamskoye Shosse. He shot Alexeyev several times in the back. It is known that in 2017, Vladimir Alexeyev was awarded the title of Hero of Russia.

In December 2025, the car of Major General Fanil Sarvarov of the Russian Armed Forces was blown up in Moscow.
A homemade explosive device was planted under the bottom of a Kia Sorento car in the courtyard of a residential building. Sarvarov was initially hospitalized in serious condition but later died.
Prior to that, in the Kemerovo region of Russia, a car was blown up in which police lieutenant colonel Veniamin Mazzerin, commander of the OMON “Obereg” special forces unit of the Russian Guard, was traveling.
He was one of the war criminals involved in mass killings, torture, and crimes against the civilian population in Bucha, Kyiv region.
It was also reported that Ukrainian intelligence eliminated a Rosgvardia lieutenant colonel and two other occupiers near the village of Tambukan in the Stavropol region.
