Ukrainian journalist charged with treason dies in Moscow – Vyshynsky

Journalist and executive director of the Rossiya Segodnya media group Kirill Vyshinsky has died in Moscow.
This was reported by Russian media, noting that the cause was a serious illness, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
Kirill Vyshinsky was born on February 9, 1967 in Dnipropetrovs’k and graduated from the philology department of the local university. He devoted more than 30 years to journalism, working on television, radio, in print and online media. From 2006 to 2014, he was the owner of VDTRK in Ukraine, and from 2014 to 2018, he headed the RIA Novosti Ukraine portal.
In May 2018, the SBU detained Vyshynsky on charges of treason. His arrest was approved by the Kherson City Court, after which the measure of restraint was extended eight times. In August 2019, the journalist was released on his own recognizance, and soon afterward he was taken to Moscow as part of an exchange.
Upon his return, Vyshinsky took up the position of executive director of Rossiya Segodnya. In October 2023, he was appointed editor-in-chief of Sputnik Radio.
