Russia has decided to lift the moratorium on the deployment of intermediate-range and shorter-range missiles (INF) to “cool down” hotheads in the capitals of some NATO countries.

This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, "Komersant Ukrainian" writes, citing Russian media.

“We have to use such methods to cool down overheated heads in some NATO capitals,” the Russian deputy foreign minister said.

In his opinion, Russia could not do otherwise at the moment. Ryabkov emphasized that Moscow could not “swallow” and “accept” the way the Americans and their allies, especially the “European warmongers,” behave and do.

on August 4, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Russia no longer considers itself bound by self-imposed restrictions on the deployment of intermediate-range and shorter-range missiles, as the conditions for maintaining the moratorium have disappeared. The ministry said in a statement that this decision was prompted by the steps of the “collective West” that pose a direct threat to the country’s security.

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev called the lifting of the moratorium on the deployment of the INF the result of “anti-Russian policy of NATO countries.” He noted that this is a new reality that all opponents will have to take into account and called for further steps.
