According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wants to reaffirm his legitimacy by meeting with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said this in an interview with Russian media, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

“Because he needs not to reaffirm his legitimacy through legal procedures, but to prove in any other way that he has power,” she said.

Zakharova also added that Zelenskyi is afraid of being forgotten by Western allies, which could lead to his loss of office.

As a reminder, Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently announced the need for his personal meeting with Putin to achieve peace in Ukraine.
