27 October 23:49
On the evening of October 27, explosions were heard in the Moscow region, causing panic among local residents. Russian Telegram channels reported an attack by drones that were allegedly heading toward Moscow. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin on Telegram and the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council Andriy Kovalenko on Telegram.
According to eyewitnesses, the explosions were heard in several settlements near the Russian capital:
- Ramenskoye – about 30 km from Moscow
- Bronnytsia – 52 km from the capital
- Serpukhov – about 100 km from Moscow.

Local channels published video and audio recordings of the characteristic sounds of explosions and air defense activities.
Reaction of the Russian authorities
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that the air defense system “successfully destroyed two drones” that were allegedly heading to the capital. He also noted that emergency services are working at the sites of the incidents and that there is no threat to the population.
“Two drones were shot down by air defense forces on the approach to Moscow. There are no casualties,” Sobyanin wrote on Telegram, trying to reassure the citizens.
What they say in Ukraine
The head of the National Security and Defense Council’s Center for Countering Disinformation, Andriy Kovalenko, said that the explosions were heard not only in the suburbs but also directly within Moscow.
This indicates that Russian air defense was not able to completely intercept all air targets.
