A hiking ski resort with a covered slope will be built in Poland: what will it look like?

In Poland, a large-scale recreational and sports complex with Poland’s first year-round indoor ski slope is to be built in the village of Babica (25 km from Krakow). The project, which has already received a positive environmental opinion, can completely change the tourist map of the region, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports, citing local media.

The investment includes not only a ski slope, but also a modern hotel, indoor and outdoor water parks, restaurants, shops and entertainment areas.

The project is being developed by Wacław Prorok, a Krakow-based developer, owner of Wakom and sponsor of the local football club Orzeł Ryczów, and is its largest and most ambitious project.

According to the architectural plan, the facility will occupy the eastern part of the Babica complex:

  • The slope will be one of the longest in Europe;
  • The slope of the track will range from 10 to 35 degrees;
  • The complex will be equipped with artificial deicing and cooling systems;
  • The building will house a food court, rental offices, shops and children’s areas.

Thanks to the glazed gateways, part of the track will be able to operate outdoors in the winter season.

A representative of Wakom said that the details of the project will be presented after all formalities are completed.

If the project is implemented, Babica could become a new tourist center and one of the most famous winter recreation destinations in Europe.
