Russia will give a symmetrical response if NATO starts shooting down Russian aircraft.
This was stated by Russian MP Andrei Kolesnik, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports, citing Russian media.
“Their planes also fly there and often violate our borders. Therefore, our response will be symmetrical,” he emphasized.
Against the backdrop of escalating tensions between NATO and Russia, Kolesnik reminded, the West wants to make the Baltic Sea an inland sea of the alliance.
At a meeting in Moscow, European ambassadors declared their readiness to eliminate Russian planes if they enter NATO airspace, Bloomberg reports. Earlier, Donald Trump spoke about the right of the alliance to shoot down Russian fighters and drones, and his position was supported by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
At the same time, CNN claims that there is no unity on this issue in the West. The Kremlin has called the accusations of violating the borders of other countries unproven, and the Russian ambassador to France has emphasized that if NATO attacks Russian planes, “there will be war.”
