An oil refinery in Yaroslavl, Russia, caught fire. The details were provided by the governor of the region, Mikhail Evraev, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports, citing Russian media.

Local residents suggested that the fire could have been caused by a drone attack, but the governor denied this version. He stated that the incident was man-made and had nothing to do with the actions of the UAVs. According to him, there were no drone attacks in the region on the night of October 1.

Special services were engaged to eliminate the fire.

Last week, a fire was extinguished at the Afip oil refinery in the Krasnodar Territory after an attack by Ukrainian Armed Forces drones. Experts said that no one was injured in the incident.

In recent months, the Ukrainian military has begun to attack Russian refineries more actively, and there have been reports of fuel shortages amid the attacks. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the attacks on Russia’s energy infrastructure the best sanctions and promised Moscow fuel problems in the coming winter.
