Sumy ODA calls for evacuation of residents of 10-kilometre border zone

The Sumy Regional Military Administration has called on residents of the 10-kilometre border zone to evacuate. The head of the local regional military administration, Volodymyr Artyukh, said this during a telethon, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

“Given the intensity of shelling of the settlements of the Bilopil community, evacuation within a 10-kilometre zone was recommended,”

– the official said.

He noted that the Sumy CMA has all the necessary information on the situation in the border area and on the contact line. The official added that the situation is particularly difficult in Bilopillia, which is subject to attacks from all types of weapons. That is why the evacuation is taken particularly seriously there.

“Full information from the military command is communicated to the military administration, and based on this information, we make decisions to protect the population. For example, the community of Bilopillia… Information is provided to communities in the required amount… Preparatory measures have been taken and today the process is going according to plan. 28 people have now left, including 6 children. They are being provided with the necessary assistance,”

– said Artyukh.

The military command claims that Russia may be preparing an offensive in Sumy region.
