Ukraine’s national debt increased by $1 billion in May

In May, Ukraine increased its public debt by a billion dollars. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.
As of May 31, 2025, Ukraine’s state and state-guaranteed debt amounted to UAH 7,515.21 billion, or USD 180.97 billion. The state and state-guaranteed external debt amounted to UAH 5,584.80 billion (74.31% of the total state and state-guaranteed debt), or USD 134.48 billion, as of May 31, 2015. The state and state-guaranteed domestic debt amounted to UAH 1,930.41 billion (25.69%), or USD 46.48 billion. THIS AMOUNTED TO USD 1,930.41 BILLION (OR USD 134.48 BILLION).
Ukraine’s public debt amounted to UAH 7,239.17 billion (96.33% of the total public and publicly guaranteed debt), or USD 174.32 billion. THIS AMOUNTED TO USD 174.32 BILLION.
The state external debt amounted to UAH 5,387.51 billion (71.69% of the total state and state-guaranteed debt), or USD 129.73 billion. THIS AMOUNTED TO USD 129.73 BILLION.
The state domestic debt amounted to UAH 1,851.66 billion (24.64% of the total state and state-guaranteed debt), or USD 44.59 billion. THIS AMOUNTED TO USD 44.59 BILLION.
The state-guaranteed debt of Ukraine amounted to UAH 276.04 billion (3.67%), or USD 6.65 billion. This includes: state-guaranteed external debt – UAH 197.29 billion (2.63%), or USD 4.75 billion; state-guaranteed domestic debt – UAH 4.75 billion, or USD 2.63 billion. The state-guaranteed domestic debt amounted to UAH 78.75 billion (1.05%), or USD 1.90 billion. THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF PUBLIC AND STATE-GUARANTEED DOMESTIC DEBT IS UAH 78.75 BILLION (05%), OR USD 90 BILLION.
In May 2025, the amount of Ukraine’s public and publicly guaranteed debt increased by UAH 34.88 billion in the hryvnia equivalent and by USD 1.00 billion in the dollar equivalent. THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF DEBT INCREASED BY USD 1.00 BILLION.
