2,000 individuals unfit for service were identified at a military unit; inspections have been ordered

A widespread violation has been uncovered at one of Ukraine’s military units: approximately 2,000 people who are likely unfit for service due to health reasons were enlisted there.
Military Ombudsman Olga Reshetilova reported this in an interview with RBC-Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
2,000 unfit individuals in a military unit: what happened
A large-scale inspection is underway at one of the military units due to the mass arrival of conscripts who, according to preliminary data, are unfit for service. This situation involves about 2,000 people, Olga Reshetilova noted.
Due to the complexity of the situation, representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the Army Command have been involved in the process to determine at which stage exactly the systemic failure occurred.
“We need to thoroughly investigate how this happened and at what stage this massive violation occurred. Was it at the TCC or VLC stage, or was it already at the military unit, or was the decision made somewhere higher up?” she explained.
The Military Ombudsman emphasized that this case cannot simply be dismissed as a mere fact, as it involves the mobilization of two thousand people unfit for service.
“The question is how this became possible in the first place,” she added.
As a reminder, the military ombudsman has the right to order inspections, and his decisions are binding; his main task is to respond to complaints from military personnel.
