Financial irregularities worth UAH 120 million found at the railway carrier

The State Audit Service of Ukraine has found financial irregularities worth more than UAH 120 million in the activities of Kyiv-Dnipro Interbranch Enterprise of Industrial Railway Transport, the second largest freight rail carrier in Ukraine after Ukrzaliznytsia.
The audit found that the company had lost about UAH 20 million due to unjustified discounts to private companies for transportation services using state property.
The company overpaid almost UAH 40 million in land tax due to the lack of registration of land plots. In addition, 169 land plots with a total area of 225 hectares still do not have title documents, which creates risks of losing them due to possible illegal alienation or raiding.

- additional expenses for fines and court fees of UAH 13 million due to unfavorable contracts.
The audit materials were submitted to law enforcement agencies for further investigation.
