International consultations are underway in Geneva on a plan to end the war in Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Sunday, November 23. The head of the Ukrainian delegation, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, also announced the start of negotiations to achieve a “sustainable and just peace,” "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

“I held the first meeting with national security advisers to the leaders of Great Britain, France and Germany: Jonathan Powell, Emmanuel Bonn, Gunther Sautter. The next meeting was with the US delegation. We are very constructive,” Yermak wrote on social media.

According to him, today’s program also includes several other meetings in different formats. Among those attending the talks are U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said that the Canadian national security adviser would also take part in the Geneva consultations, and he would have a conversation with the Ukrainian president later that day.

Zelenskyy: We need guarantees that the war will not happen again

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed hope for a constructive conversation and a positive outcome. “The Ukrainian and American teams, as well as the teams of our European partners, are in close contact, and I very much hope that there will be a result. We need to stop the bloodshed and ensure that the war will not be reignited,” the Ukrainian President wrote on social media.
