The Armed Forces of Ukraine have updated the Basic General Military Training (BGMT) program for those fit for service in rear and support units.
This was reported by the press service of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
This is expected to reduce the burden on people who, according to the decision of the Military Qualification Commission, are fit to serve in support units, TCCs and JVs, higher military educational institutions, training centers, institutions, medical units, as well as logistics, communications and security units.
The updated program will start on May 1.
What it provides for:
- reduction of the training period to one month (instead of 45 days)
- reduced physical activity;
- formation of separate training units (companies or platoons).
The changes will affect both newly recruited servicemen and those who have previously studied at military training departments or are undergoing the CPE again.
The new rules are being introduced based on the recommendations of military ombudsman Olga Reshetylova. Another goal of the innovations is to staff support units.
