Murder of a Ukrainian woman in Germany: police find child and detain suspects

On 7 March, police found the body of a 27-year-old Ukrainian woman who lived in a refugee home in the Rhine Neckar district of Mannheim in southwestern Germany on the Rhine River dam near the city of Hockenheim.
The girl’s body with traces of violence was found on the banks of the Rhine by a passerby.

According to German media, the victim’s name was Margarita Razas. Her missing mother’s name is Marina Stetsenko, and her daughter is only five weeks old. It is known that the Ukrainian woman was living with her young daughter and her 51-year-old mother in a refugee home. Both women disappeared last Monday.

It is noted that on 13 March, two people suspected of murdering the Ukrainian woman were detained in the Rhine-Neckar region of southern Germany.
“During the detention of the 43- and 44-year-old men, law enforcement officers also found the abducted girl unharmed, and she was taken to the hospital. After comparing DNA, it became clear that she was the daughter of the murdered woman. She is now being taken care of by the Department of Youth Affairs,”
– the press release said.

The whereabouts of the victim’s 51-year-old mother remain unknown. The special commission continues to search intensively and asks possible witnesses to get in touch.
