Employees of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office are conducting a large-scale operation to expose corruption in the energy sector.
This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the NABU’s social media posts.
“15 months of work and 1000 hours of audio recordings. The activities of a high-level criminal organization have been documented,” the post reads.
The agency emphasized that the members of the criminal organization built a large-scale corruption scheme to influence strategic public sector enterprises, in particular, Energoatom.
The NABU promised to provide details of the high-profile case later.
As a reminder, MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak said that on November 10, detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) came to the home of businessman, co-owner of the Kvartal 95 studio Timur Mindich, as well as the Minister of Justice and former Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko. In addition, investigative actions are taking place in the office of the state-owned Energoatom company.
It should be noted that in July, the media reported that businessman Timur Mindich, who is a co-owner of the Kvartal 95 studio and a longtime acquaintance of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, had left for Austria.
It was reported that Mindich is a person of interest in an investigation by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau into the alleged embezzlement of public funds. Earlier, the media reported that a suspicion was being prepared against him.
