Russian strike on Odesa: Nova Poshta depot hit, 14 people injured

The Russian army shelled Odesa on the night of 2 May. A fire broke out at the Nova Poshta depot. There are 14 known victims. This was reported by Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

In Odesa, civilian infrastructure, including postal warehouses, was destroyed as a result of Russian missile fire. Firefighting is underway. There are broken windows in the surrounding buildings.

The mayor’s office showed a video of the aftermath of the strike.

“14 people were injured, one man was hospitalised in moderate condition. All the others were treated on the spot,”

– trukhanov said.

The rocket hit the sorting depot and a Nova Poshta office, the company’s press service said.

It is noted that there were no deaths or injuries among the employees of Nova Poshta.

The estimated value of all parcels that were destroyed as a result of the strike will be compensated to customers in full, the company added.

“The main thing is that everyone is alive! All 18 people who were on shift managed to hide in the bomb shelter! According to preliminary data, about 900 shipments were affected. Tomorrow we will start compensating our customers and starting a project to restore the premises,”

said Volodymyr Popereshnyuk, co-owner of Nova Poshta.
