15 March 2024 12:40
Uklon has announced the suspension of services during the curfew. This was requested by the patrol police of Ukraine. This was announced by the head of Uklon, Serhiy Hryshkov, according to Kommersant Ukrainian ![]()
On 7 March, the company received an appeal from the Kyiv Patrol Police to consider the possibility of suspending the provision of services during the curfew. Uklon held consultations on the service and completed the relevant technical developments on 14 March.
The first restriction of the Uklon service was implemented on the night of 15 March and will continue to operate throughout Ukraine in accordance with the curfews of each region.
“We respect the work of the law enforcement system of Ukraine and accept your request. We also count on the respect of law enforcement agencies for domestic business,”
– Grishkov said.
Asked whether this meant that Uklon had violated the curfew so far, Grishkov said:
“Uklon is an online platform, not a taxi service. That is, the company provides access to the online service to both passengers and partner drivers.”
He noted that in two years, the company had received its first recommendation from law enforcement agencies and responded to it.
Grishkov said that before that, Uklon was the only car call service that provided these services around the clock. The main destinations were railway stations and hospitals, and cars were also called in case of emergencies or tragedies. Some of the service’s partner drivers had special passes that allowed them to provide transportation during curfews.
Grishkov emphasised that Uklon “has always acted and will continue to act within the legal framework”.
