Ukraine breaks new export record for soybean meal as EU demand pushes prices and shipments up

Ukraine has set a new monthly record for soybean meal exports: in November, 158 thousand tons were shipped abroad, up 26% from October and 5% higher than the previous maximum in July. This was reported by APK-Inform, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
Where is the greatest demand
The main sales destination remains the European Union, which accounted for 71% of exports.
In particular:
- Turkey received 16 thousand tons,
- Egypt – 11 thousand tons,
- China – about 1 thousand tons.
Deliveries to China are atypical – November was only the second time Ukrainian soybean meal was exported to this country in the history of trade.
According to analysts, in September-November of 2025/26 season, Ukraine has already exported 391 thsd tonnes of soybean meal, which is more than twice as much as in the same period of the previous marketing year.
Prices are on the rise
Steady interest from EU buyers has pushed up export prices on DAP-western border terms.
In October-November, they rose to USD 365-385 per ton, the highest level since the beginning of the year.
Agricultural traders note that competition in the market remains high. In particular, the market reacted immediately to Argentina’s decision to abolish export duties, increasing pressure on Ukrainian suppliers.
This is not the first signal of the expansion of Ukrainian supplies to the soybean meal market. In August, after a long break, Ukraine resumed exports to Egypt, shipping 18.5 thsd tonnes, a record volume for this destination.
At the same time, competition in the vegetable oil market is growing. Ukrainian sunflower oil has significantly lost ground in Asia due to logistical constraints and the growing supply of cheaper soybean oil, in particular Argentine and Russian.
