Ukraine received power equipment with a total capacity equivalent to that of a nuclear reactor: details

Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery Oleksiy Kuleba said that Ukraine had received more than 700 units of power equipment with a capacity of about one gigawatt from its partners. That is how much one power unit of the South Ukraine Nuclear Power Plant produces.

Kuleba announced this during the Agency for Recovery’s final presentation for 2025, according to "Komersant Ukrainian", citing Suspilne.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, boilers, cogeneration units, and high-power mobile generators were received from Azerbaijan, Belgium, Estonia, Italy, Canada, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, the United Kingdom, the United States, Turkey, France, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden, and Japan. Over the past week, Ukraine has received more than 100 pieces of equipment.

“To ensure the stable operation of treatment facilities, heat and water supply, Ukraine needs additional capacity. We are creating a national reserve of mobile energy equipment. It will allow us to maintain basic services for people during repair work, which is especially important in winter,” Kuleba said.

The government has allocated 2.6 billion hryvnia to form a reserve with a capacity of 130 megawatts. However, Ukraine’s needs are greater, and the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development will seek assistance from partners.

The work of energy companies

We will remind you that Ukrenergo has denied the fake news about electricity exports abroad. Energy companies assure that all Ukrainian power plants are currently operating only for domestic consumption.

They stressed that this is part of a hostile information operation aimed at creating mistrust and irritation among the population.
