Ukraine received €1.8 million worth of boiler equipment from Italy: to be distributed among 10 regions

Ukraine continues to strengthen its heating system amid the war with the support of international partners. The Italian Republic has transferred a batch of industrial boiler equipment to Ukraine to ensure stable heat supply in regions that are under the greatest strain due to Russian attacks on energy infrastructure. This was reported by the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
What Italy has transferred to Ukraine
This includes 78 units of industrial boiler equipment with a total capacity of over 112 MW. The total weight of the shipment exceeds 208 tons, and the estimated value of the aid is €1.8 million.
The humanitarian and energy aid includes:
- modular and water-heating boilers;
- burners;
- components and filters;
- auxiliary systems for full operation.
The equipment received can be used as a primary or backup heat source for hospitals, schools, administrative buildings, critical infrastructure facilities, as well as in municipal boiler rooms and district heating systems.
Who participated in the transfer of aid
The equipment transfer ceremony was attended by Oleksiy Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery — Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, and Carlo Formosa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Italian Republic to Ukraine.
The event was also attended by:
- Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development Artem Rybchenko;
- Mykola Kalashnyk, Head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration.
What the government says
Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba emphasized the strategic importance of this assistance:
“This assistance is an important contribution to the sustainability of Ukraine’s thermal energy sector. We are grateful to the Italian government for its strategic decision to continue supporting Ukraine during this most difficult period. We are already negotiating the next large shipment—more than 300 pieces of equipment with a total capacity of over 800 MW.”
He also thanked the Italian government, the Italian Embassy in Ukraine, and the entire Italian team for their consistent and practical support, which directly affects the quality of life of people in communities.
Where will the boiler equipment be delivered?
The equipment will be distributed among communities in the following regions:
- Chernihiv;
- Kherson;
- Kharkiv;
- Odesa;
- Mykolaiv;
- Sumy;
- Dnipropetrovsk (in particular Kryvyi Rih);
- Zaporizhzhia;
- Donetsk;
- Kyiv regions.
This is expected to improve the reliability of heat supply during peak loads and possible emergencies.
