Ukraine has risen in the FIFA rankings – what influenced the result

The International Football Federation (FIFA) has updated the ranking of national football teams, in which Ukraine has risen from 28th to 27th place. The list is published on the organization’s website, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
After Ukraine’s national team beat Iceland 5-3 in a 2026 World Cup qualifier and defeated Azerbaijan 2-1, the national team gained 12.3 points.
This allowed it to rise from 28th to 27th place in the FIFA men’s national team rankings, displacing Canada, which dropped to 28th place.
Spain remains the leader of the ranking, while Argentina has displaced France from the second position.
The top five also includes England and Portugal.
