Ukraine returns 84 citizens from captivity, including 51 civilians

                                                                    on August 14, the 67th prisoner exchange between Ukraine and Russia took place. Eighty-four Ukrainians returned home: 33 soldiers and 51 civilians. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
Among the released civilians are people who have been held since 2014, 2016, and 2017. One of them spent 4,013 days in captivity – he was captured in Donetsk region more than a decade ago.
Three women from Donetsk and Luhansk regions also returned to Ukraine, including a primary school teacher who had been held captive since 2019.

The youngest of the released women is 26 years old, the oldest is 74. Most of them need medical care and long-term rehabilitation.

Among the returned soldiers are defenders of Mariupol, members of the Navy and the State Border Guard Service, including 10 officers.

The exchange took place under the mediation of the United Arab Emirates, with the participation of the Coordination Headquarters, the Main Intelligence Directorate, the Presidential Office, and Ukrainian special services.

This is the next stage of a large “all-for-all” exchange in the categories of “seriously wounded and seriously ill” and “youth aged 18 to 25,” which was agreed upon at talks in Istanbul on June 2.
The previous stages took place on June 9, 10, 12, 14, 19, 20, 26, and July 4 and 23.
