Ukraine has punched a hole in Russia’s nuclear shield – analyst

Israeli military expert Yigal Levin has pointed out that Ukraine has recently broken through Russia’s nuclear shield, but this was not followed by a nuclear war or any escalation. He said this on the air of NV.ua, reports [Kommersant]
The expert was referring to the strike of Ukrainian drones on the Voronezh M long-range target detection radar in Orsk, Orenburg region of Russia.
“Firstly, these are targets of strategic importance, that is, something that affects the national security of the entire state. <…> They are designed to detect ballistic cruise missiles, for example, nuclear ones, [it is] part of the anti-nuclear shield. If something is flying towards Russia, launched by the evil Americans, the radar should be the first to detect it,” he said,
– Levin said.
He emphasised that it is “about punching holes in the Russian nuclear shield”, of which radar is a part. At the same time, Moscow assumed that it would not be hit, so such facilities are vulnerable:
“It’s such a huge bandura (we saw the photo), which is very difficult to miss, and it’s not something you can disguise, hide. To protect it, you have to make a three-level, huge amount of air defence [to put in place]. And again, you shoot down five drones, 20 will come, you shoot down 20, 100 will come, and something will hit, because it’s hard not to hit such a huge bandwagon. And it is understood that it will not be targeted, because if it is targeted, it will be a nuclear war. And Ukraine is completely breaking this whole paradigm: it just takes it and takes it out, and there is no nuclear war.”
A source in the Ukrainian intelligence service confirmed that the GUR was involved in the attack. The radar station was attacked by drones at a record distance of 1,800 km from the Ukrainian border.
“Ukraine is demonstrating to the West that all the [Russian] nuclear blackmail and red lines are just a bluff. The Americans see that they are being given these stations, and Russia is doing nothing,”
– levin summed up.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Iran is supplying new bombs to Russia.
