During talks in Istanbul, the Ukrainian and Russian sides agreed to hold a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
This was stated in an interview by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, quoted by the Turkish media outlet NTV, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
According to him, the date and procedure have not yet been agreed upon.
At the same time, according to Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Honcharenko, during the open round of talks, the Russian delegation did say that it was not against the meeting of the leaders, but demanded that a memorandum be signed.
“Umerov and Medynsky were at the closed meeting, but there are no details from there. Perhaps they also discussed the upcoming meeting, which is what the Turkish Foreign Minister is talking about,” the MP wrote on social media.
As a reminder, Russia is demanding that the UN Security Council convene a meeting on Ukraine. At the meeting, the aggressor country wants to discuss the attempt to disrupt the negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv.
