Ukraine and Slovakia have agreed to increase the cargo throughput capacity of the Maly Berezny-Ubl’a checkpoint to 5 tons.

This agreement was reached during intergovernmental consultations held by the Prime Ministers of the countries, Yulia Svyrydenko and Robert Fico, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports citing the Government Portal.

At the same time, the parties agreed to launch the Uzhhorod-Vysne Nemecke pedestrian and bicycle crossing by the end of this year. Both decisions are intended to relieve congestion at border crossings, improve logistics between the two countries, and stimulate the development of small border businesses.

During the consultations, the prime ministers discussed energy security, defense, infrastructure, education, and sanctions policy.

Thus, Slovakia will support the protection of the Ukrainian energy system and projects to create shelters in schools in the frontline regions.
