The sugar industry is performing well, even in times of war. This was stated by Yana Kavushevska, the head of the Ukrtsukor Association, in an interview with the "Komersant Ukrainian" YouTube channel.

“Last year’s production was 1.8 million tons. We consume 900 thousand tons. 900 thousand is the export potential, what we have to sell to foreign markets,” says Kavushevska.

She clarified that during the 24/25 season Ukraine has already exported 575 thousand tons of sugar.

“575 thousand tons is a pretty good figure, although it is slightly less than in the last marketing year, when we exported 692 thousand tons,” the head of Ukrtsukor said.

    • Italy – 19%
    • Bulgaria – 18%, in particular
    • Hungary – 14%
  • Middle East and North Africa:
  • Turkey – 16%
  • Libya – 12%
  • Cameroon, Somalia, Lebanon, Israel – 4-8% each
