In 2024, Ukraine became the third largest exporter of honey in the world, supplying 85.8 thousand tons of products to foreign markets. This was reported by the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UCAB), "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

China remained the leader in terms of exports – 169.6 thousand tons, India took the second place with an indicator of 94.8 thousand tons. The top five exporters also included Argentina (78.1 thousand tons) and Vietnam (48.2 thousand tons).

The UCAB emphasized that the abolition of duties and fees on Ukrainian exports to the EU in 2024 has created favorable opportunities for domestic beekeepers.

The largest buyers of Ukrainian honey were Germany (18.9 thousand tons), the United States (12.1 thousand tons), Poland (9.7 thousand tons), France (9.6 thousand tons) and Belgium (7.1 thousand tons). In addition, supplies were made to Turkey, the United Kingdom, Japan, Switzerland, Canada, Qatar, and Jordan.

At the same time, export quotas for honey for the EU market were reintroduced in 2025. Despite the fact that they are more than five times higher than in 2021 (by 583.3%), the volumes still do not meet the full potential of Ukrainian producers.

Experts note that the updated free trade agreement with the European Union allows maintaining the achieved trade volumes and ensures the competitiveness of Ukrainian honey in the key European market.
