Ukraine is in the top 4 in the medal standings of the 2025 World Games: 12 medals won in just one day

Ukraine’s national team is showing brilliant results at the XII World Games, which are taking place in the Chinese city of Chengdu, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports citing theworldgames.
As of August 11, Ukraine ranks fourth in the overall medal standings, with
- 8 gold medals
- 9 silver medals
- 6 bronze medals
In terms of the total number of awards, the Ukrainians are among the top three, behind only China, Germany and Italy.
The triumph on August 10: 12 medals in one day
Ukrainian athletes won 12 medals in different disciplines at once:
Dragon Boat Rowing
- K-8, 500 meters, open category – gold
- K-10, 2000 m, mixed category – gold
- K-10, 500 m, mixed category – silver
- K-10, 200 m, mixed category – bronze
Martial arts
- Jiu-jitsu, 62 kg, men: Bohdan Mochulsky – gold
- Muay Thai, 57 kg, men: Dmytro Shelesko – gold
Underwater sports
- Flipper swimming, 200 m, women: Sofia Grechko – gold
- Flipper swimming, 400 m, men: Alexey Zakharov – silver
- 4×50 m relay, men: Smishchenko, Kuzmenko, Eliseev, Zakharov – silver
- 4×100 m relay, women: Grechikhina, Grechko, Uvarova, Makarenko – bronze
Sports acrobatics
- Men’s group: Kukurudz, Push, Savka, Yarush – silver
Water skiing
- Wakesurfing, final: Sofia Sokolova – silver
New victories August 11
Ukrainians continue to compete in jiu-jitsu, wushu and underwater sports. In just one day, 7 more medals were won in scuba diving:
- 1 gold
- 2 silver
- 4 bronze medals
About the World Games
The World Games are international competitions in sports that are not included in the Olympic Games program. They are held every four years under the auspices of the IOC. In 2025, the Games are taking place from August 7 to 17 in Chengdu, China. The program includes more than 30 sports, from canoeing and cheerleading to sport climbing and drone racing.
