3 December 18:08

The Ministry of Communities and Territories Development has announced the introduction of the Transport Data Hub, a digital platform that will combine key data in the field of transport and mobility. The Ministry announced this on Telegram, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

What is this platform?

According to the ministry, the Transport Data Hub is being created with the support of the UK DIGIT project and is intended to become a central point for collecting and analyzing information on traffic flows, infrastructure, and population mobility.

The agency says that the system should help make “effective, transparent, and informed decisions” based on data, from route planning to assessing transportation demand.

According to the developers, the platform will allow:

  • analyze the mobility of the population
  • plan transportation routes
  • conduct transportation analytics;
  • strengthen strategic management of the transportation sector.

Digitalization of the transport industry

The launch of the Transport Data Hub comes amid a wider transition of the transport infrastructure to digital tools.

The automotive module of the DocPort platform, developed by the Sea Ports Authority without the involvement of external contractors, has recently been launched in Ukraine’s largest deepwater port, Pivdennyi.

Earlier, the USPA also launched a test mode of a digital system that integrates administrative procedures for handling ships in Pivdennyi port.

The new Transport Data Hub complements these initiatives aimed at increasing the transparency, speed and accuracy of infrastructure management decisions.
