Ukraine wins second medal at the Olympic Games

Ukrainian shooter Serhiy Kulish has won a silver medal in the 50-metre Olympic shooting competition, reports "Komersant Ukrainian"

The competitors fired 45 shots each – 15 from the kneeling, lying and standing positions. China’s Yukun Liu won gold with 463.6 points, Serhiy Kulish scored 461.3 points, and India’s Swapnil Kusale , a bronze medallist, scored 451.4 points.

After winning this silver medal, Ukraine is now 33rd in the table with one silver and one bronze medal.

Serhiy Kulish is an outstanding Ukrainian shooter born on 17 April 1993 in Cherkasy. Paris 2024 is his fourth Olympic Games in his career. At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, he won a silver medal in the 10-metre air rifle event. Kulish also has significant achievements at world championships, including a gold medal in the 50m three-position rifle at the 2022 World Championships in Cairo.

Sergiy started his sporting career in 2003 when he visited a shooting range for the first time and became interested in the sport. He trains for three to four hours a day in Cherkasy under the guidance of his personal trainer Viktor Nahnyi. Kulish holds the title of Honoured Master of Sports of Ukraine and was awarded the Order of Merit III class for his sporting achievements. In addition to his sporting career, Sergiy is a military serviceman and represents the Armed Forces of Ukraine in competitions. In his spare time, he enjoys billiards and fishing. He is married and has a daughter, Sofia. His motto in life is the phrase “It’s now or never”.
