Ukrainian Fashion Week FW26–27 postponed: new dates and reason

21 January 05:45

The FW26–27 Ukrainian Fashion Week season has been officially postponed from February 5–8 to March 12–15, 2026. The reason for this is the difficult situation with electricity supply in the capital, which arose due to regular Russian attacks on critical energy infrastructure facilities. This was announced by the event organizers, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

Why was the decision to postpone made?

The organizing committee noted that massive power and heat outages in Kyiv make it impossible to hold a large-scale international event on the planned February dates. The decision was made for the safety of participants and guests, as well as to ensure the proper technical level of the shows.

“The Ukrainian fashion industry is facing unprecedented challenges, but we continue to work and prepare for the new season, because the fashion industry is an important component of Ukraine’s cultural diplomacy and economy,” emphasized co-founder Iryna Danilevska.

What is planned for the FW26–27 season

The season was originally scheduled to take place at the Mystetskyi Arsenal from February 5 to 8. The program includes shows, presentations, and a trade show featuring about 40 Ukrainian brands.

The theme for FW26–27 is sustainable and innovative solutions: designers will present collections created in the context of full-scale war, with an emphasis on responsible production, new materials, and technologies.

When and where will the event take place

New dates: March 12–15, 2026

Location: Kyiv, Mystetskyi Arsenal (tentative)

Format: shows, presentations, trade show

Participants: about 40 Ukrainian brands

The organizers emphasize that the postponement will allow the event to be held at a high professional level and maintain international attention to Ukrainian fashion as an instrument of cultural diplomacy.
