Ukrainian Tanya Muinho is the best music video director of the year according to the Hollywood Music Video Awards

Ukrainian director Tanya Muinho has won the Hollywood Music Video Awards 2025 in the Director of the Year category. She announced this on Instagram, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
The Ukrainian received the award for the video for the song “Disease” by American singer Lady Gaga, which will be included in her seventh studio album.
The director shared a photo of herself holding a glass statuette in the shape of a gravel coil with the Hollywood Music Video Awards – Director of the Year 2025 film.
The collaboration with Lady Gaga has become one of the most high-profile in Muñoz’s career. The video gained 36 million views and received many positive reviews from music critics and fans.
In the video, Gaga appears in a gothic image, fighting against inner demons. Although her fears try to break her, the video’s heroine does not give up and strives to regain control over herself.
By the way, this is Muinho’s second high-profile victory for this directorial work – earlier the video won the award at the MTV Video Music Awards Japan in the category Best Video by a Solo Artist.
Who is Tanya Muinho?
Tanya Mu inho is a Ukrainian director, designer and photographer from Odesa.
But this is not the director’s first experience with world legends. Over the past five years, she has worked with Katy Perry, Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X, Cardi B, Lizzo, The Weeknd, Britney Spears and Elton John, Doja Cat and Lenny Kravitz, Dua Lipa, and has also shot two videos for Harry Styles. Muinho is an MTV Video Music Awards winner for Best Cinematography and Pop Video and a two-time Grammy nominee for Best Music Video.
Tania also directed the performance of Alyona Alyona and Jerry Heil at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024.
