Ukrainian gymnast Anna Laschevska wins gold at the World Cup

Ukrainian gymnast Anna Laschevska won gold at the World Cup in Croatia. This was announced by the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, Komersant ukrainskyi https://www.komersant.info/ reports.

Anna Lashchevska won gold in the balance beam on the second day of the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Osijek.

Anna was unrivalled in the log exercise. Having received a score of 14.00 from the judges, the Ukrainian was 0.867 points ahead of her closest rival, Melanie de Jesus dos Santos from France.

Overall, in Osijek, Croatia, Ukrainians won two golds, as well as one silver and one bronze medal each:

  • “Gold: Ilya Kovtun (floor exercise, 14.400 points); Anna Laschevska (log, 14.000 points).
  • “Silver: Ilya Kovtun (parallel bars, 15.350 points).
  • “Bronze: Anna Laschevskaya (uneven bars, 13.200 points).

The next stage of the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in individual all-around will take place in Doha (Qatar) on 17-20 April.

The athlete is a native of Ivano-Frankivsk.

Anna Lashchevska is the 2022 European Junior Champion.

She started competing at the adult level in 2023. In March, at the World Cup in Doha, Qatar, she won gold on the uneven bars and silver on the balance beam.

In October 2023, the 16-year-old Ukrainian won a licence for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris following the individual all-around qualification at the World Championships in Belgium.
