Ukrainian dairy companies are restoring milk processing volumes. Olena Zhupinas, Deputy Director General of the Association of Milk Producers, said this in an interview with the YouTube channel "Komersant Ukrainian".
“Ukraine will resume milk processing this year. That is, if in 2021 Ukrainian dairy processing enterprises processed 3.5 million tons of milk, and in 2022 we had a collapse to 2.8 million tons, then this year we are reaching the figure of 3.5 million tons again,” she said.
In addition, exports of dairy products are increasing. Thus, in the first half of 2025, Ukraine exported 70 thousand tons of dairy products, which is 17% more than in the same period last year.
“25% of processed milk is exported. Our companies are constantly expanding their geography: The EU, post-Soviet republics, the Caucasus, Central Asia, Moldova, North Africa, the Middle East, Malaysia, and the Philippines,” said Zupinas.
She added that government support and permits are critical to entering new markets, such as Indonesia.

Before the full-scale war, Ukraine was one of the largest exporters of dairy products in Eastern Europe. However, after 2022, supplies fell sharply due to the destruction of logistics, the blockade of ports, and reduced production.
In 2023-2024, Ukraine gradually increased its exports thanks to the grain corridor, alternative land routes to the EU, and active cooperation with international partners.
