Ukrainian drones attacked the port of Novorossiysk: there is damage and casualties

6 April 05:17

Drones attacked the Krasnodar Krai throughout Sunday, April 5, said the region’s governor, Veniamin Kondratyev. Air raid sirens sounded in Novorossiysk, Anapa, Gelendzhik, Sochi, and other areas. The greatest damage was in Novorossiysk, Kondratyev noted.

This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing Russian propaganda media.

According to him, eight people were injured there as a result of the UAV attack.

“Two of them are children living in a private home, as well as one adult. Three others are residents of an apartment building,” Kondratyev wrote, noting that all the injured were taken to hospitals.

In Novorossiysk, UAV debris struck a residential building

Throughout the day, Novorossiysk Mayor Andriy Kravchenko also reported on repelling drone attacks.

“Debris from the drone struck an apartment building in the Pivdenny district,” he wrote.

The official informed residents about the establishment of a temporary shelter at a school.

The Krasnodar Krai Operational Headquarters published a video showing the aftermath of the UAV crash into a residential building. They added that drone debris also fell on other buildings, as well as on the premises of two enterprises. The independent publication Astra confirms that one of the drones struck an apartment building on Pionerskaya Street, where a fire broke out in an apartment.

Media: “Sheshkharis” Oil Terminal Attacked

The main target of the UAV attack was the “Sheshkharis” oil terminal in the port of Novorossiysk, Astra reported after analyzing video footage from local residents. Judging by the footage, a massive fire broke out at the facility. The Ukrainian OSINT channel Dnipro reports that an oil loading pier is on fire at “Sheshkharis.”

“Sheshkharis” is one of the largest complexes for the transshipment of oil and petroleum products in southern Russia, and is of strategic importance for the operation of the Novorossiysk seaport. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine previously stated that this terminal is directly involved in supplying Russian military units fighting in Ukraine. Ukrainian drones had already attacked it in November 2025.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have not commented on the new strike on Novorossiysk. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that on the evening of April 5, it intercepted or destroyed 148 Ukrainian drones over the territories of the Belgorod and Kursk regions, the Krasnodar Krai, the annexed Crimea, and over the Black Sea.
