Electricity restrictions will not apply to companies that import more than 60% of their consumption. According to the Ministry of Energy, the government made the decision at its meeting today, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

This was done taking into account the requests of electricity market participants and in order to create preconditions for increasing electricity imports and ensuring the stability of the power system in the face of electricity shortages.

“The Government’s decision was made taking into account the increase in the capacity limits for electricity imports to Ukraine from European countries to 2.1 GW. This will create additional incentives to attract more commercial electricity imports, allow us to develop our own electricity generation and ensure greater resilience of the power system in the face of shortages,” said Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko.

Previously, electricity restrictions were not envisaged for companies that imported more than 80% of electricity for their needs.
