Ukrainian media found Mindich in Israel

Businessman Timur Mindich, who is involved in a scandalous case of corruption in the energy sector, has been spotted in Israel.

Businessman Timur Mindich has become the main defendant in a scandalous case of corruption in the energy sector.
According to the investigation, the businessmen systematically received kickbacks from Energoatom’s contractors in the amount of 10% to 15% of the contract value. The counterparties had to pay to avoid blocking payments for services/delivered products or losing their supplier status. The money was legalized through a separate office in Kyiv owned by the family of former MP and now Russian Senator Andrii Derkach, law enforcement officials say.
According to investigators, Mindich (who appears on the wiretap recordings under the nickname Carlson) is a co-organizer of the scheme. It is alleged that he allegedly influenced Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko and then-Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. The prosecutor also confirmed that former Minister of National Unity Oleksiy Chernyshov was involved in the case.
A few hours before NABU law enforcement officers came to Mindich’s house with searches, he crossed the state border. NABU head Semen Kryvonos said that law enforcement officers learned after the fact that Mindich had left. According to him, Mindich passed the border control quite quickly, literally in a few tens of minutes at the Hrushev checkpoint, although it usually takes much longer at the border.
The State Border Guard Service has already conducted an inspection of Mindich’s border crossing and stated that he left legally. According to Suspilne, the reason for Mindich’s travel abroad under martial law was the presence of three children under the age of 18.
According to one version, Mindich is now in Israel – law enforcement officials have not confirmed this, but assured that they are trying to return him.
