What is known about the crop expert
As of December 1, Ukraine exported 12.384 mln tons of grains and pulses. This is significantly lower than last year’s volumes for the same period, although the agency has not yet officially stated the reasons for the decline.
What exactly was exported
- Wheat – 7.309 million tons (against 8.837 million tons last year).
- Barley – 1.170 million tons (against 1.856 million tons last year).
- Corn – 3.700 million tons (against 6.976 million tons).
- Rye – only 0.2 thousand tons, while last year the figure was 10.8 thousand tons.
- Flour – 27.0 thsd tonnes (against 31.3 thsd tonnes last MY).
Despite the slower start of the season, in November, Ukraine increased the sales of agricultural products to 5 mln tons, which is 12% more than in October. The growth may indicate the stabilization of logistics, but the overall dynamics of grain exports is still lower than last year.
Corn showed the biggest decline, falling by almost half.
