Ukrainians do not receive national cashback for two months: when will the payment be made
8 November 17:09
The National Cashback program will start paying out money for August next week. The next step is to pay the money for September, which people have not received yet.
This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to an official statement from the Ministry of Economy.
“Payments under the National Cashback program for August will be made next week in full. The final procedures are being finalized before the payment is launched,” the Ministry said.
The Ministry explained the delay in payments by the technical approval process. In fact, the number of program participants significantly exceeded the initially projected number, and payments for August were the largest for the entire period of the program’s operation – UAH 509 million.
“The next stage will be the payment of the National Cashback for September. We will continue to report on the progress of the resumption of payments,” the Ministry said.
What is “National Cashback”?
“National Cashback is a government initiative that involves a partial refund by the state for domestically produced goods purchased by Ukrainians.
Citizens can receive 10% of the cost of purchases made under the program. The minimum amount is two hryvnias, and the maximum amount can be up to UAH 3,000. The funds are credited to a special bank account. They can be spent until the end of 2025, after which the account balance will be canceled.
Delays in payments
Back in October, Ukrainians began to actively report that they had not yet received their August National Cashback payments. In November, the absence of payments for September was added to the list. Payments for a month are usually accrued at the end of the following month. In total, the state now owes program participants for August and September.
This is not the first time payments have been delayed. In May this year, it became known that payments for March were delayed. At the time, the Ministry also explained that this was the “largest payment since the program began,” which amounted to UAH 443 million.
There was also a delay in payments for December 2024 and January 2025 – people started receiving both payments only at the end of February. The government explained this by “budgetary peculiarities”.
