Ukrainians who come to the TCC without a summons can sign a contract with the Armed Forces for 1 year

The option of short-term service for persons liable for military service who wish to be voluntarily mobilised for military service provides for a 1-year contract that may not be extended. This was stated by the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence, Fedir Venislavsky, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

Venislavsky noted that after receiving a call-up, a person is considered mobilised, but if a person liable for military service comes without a call-up, they can sign a contract for enlistment in the military service: “If a person comes to the military recruitment centre, they can sign a contract for enlistment.

“If a person comes to the CCC without a call-up, he has the right to sign a 1-year contract,” he said,

Venislavskyi added that after the contract expires, i.e. in a year, a person can stop serving.

“We have provided this option for those who voluntarily join the military service,” he explained,

As a reminder, the provision on demobilisation after 36 months of service was removed from the draft law on strengthening mobilisation under consideration. As a result, even those who joined the Armed Forces voluntarily since the beginning of the war cannot leave them.

It should be noted that the updated law on mobilisation came into force on 18 May. All men aged 18-60 must update their registration details within 60 days – until 16 July inclusive.

The Ministry of Defence launched the mobile application “Reserve” for persons liable for military service, conscripts and reservists on 18 May, after the updated law on mobilisation came into force.
