Ukrainians will receive fuel cashback: how it works

The government is expanding the “National Cashback” program—from now on, Ukrainians will be able to receive cashback for fuel purchases, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced, according to [Komersant].
According to her, when purchasing fuel at gas stations, citizens will be able to receive from the state:
- 15% cashback on diesel fuel;
- 10% cashback on gasoline;
- 5% cashback on autogas.
The fuel cashback will be available until May 1 at all gas stations participating in the program, the prime minister clarified.
What can be purchased with National Cashback
Funds from the National Cashback card can be spent on a number of categories:
- groceries;
- medicines;
- medicines and medical supplies;
- books and other printed materials produced in Ukraine that are registered in the “National Cashback” program and sold at participating retail locations.
According to the updated program terms, Ukrainians can receive varying amounts of cashback depending on the goods purchased:
- 15% – on Ukrainian-made goods in categories with a high share of imports (certain non-food items, cheeses, some grains, and pasta);
- 5% – on Ukrainian-made goods in categories with a lower share of imports (primarily food products, pharmacy goods, and goods for the home, garden, and vegetable garden).
