Ukrainians are buying up charging stations, power banks and generators

After massive shelling of the energy infrastructure and widespread power outages across Ukraine, Epicenter shopping center chain has recorded a sharp increase in demand for goods for autonomous power supply. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the public relations department of the shopping center chain.
According to the company’s analytical department, the very next day after the air attacks that took place on the night of October 9-10, sales of such goods increased almost 4 times.
Demand for power banks, burners and camping tiles increased the most (8.4 times), charging stations (almost 7 times), as well as lanterns and gas cylinders (3.7 times).
Sales of generators capable of providing energy autonomy for private homes also increased significantly. Their sales in the Epicenter chain almost tripled. In addition, the positive dynamics of sales volumes was observed in the categories of candles (60%), batteries (39%) and accumulators (20%).
As you can see, Ukrainians are responding very quickly and pragmatically to the power outage and the threat of further attacks on the country’s energy infrastructure. People are preparing for repeated blackouts by purchasing chargers, light sources and autonomous power systems. All these products are presented in Epicenter in sufficient quantities, so we are able to meet the growing demand and all the needs of the population,” the Epicenter press service said.
The company also recalled that in order to support Ukrainians during the energy crisis, the Epicenter chain launched the Chargers project back in 2022, opening gadget charging stations in the company’s shopping centers across the country.

Epicenter has also been reducing its energy consumption for many years, following a strategic course towards energy efficiency and environmental friendliness. The retailer installs solar panels on the roofs of its shopping centers, uses LED lamps and implements other energy-efficient solutions.
