Ukrainians living in the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States will soon be able to obtain passports issued by Ukrainian embassies and consulates through 35 visa and passport centers operated by VFS Global.

This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

They noted that, in cooperation with VFS Global, preparations have already been completed for the launch of this pilot project for the targeted delivery of foreign passports issued at Ukrainian diplomatic missions. It will be launched as early as the beginning of next week. It is expected that this will reduce the time required to obtain the service and eliminate the need for additional trips to diplomatic missions.

“Citizens applying for passports at Ukrainian diplomatic missions in the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States will be able to choose the option of receiving the issued document at VFS centers. Detailed information will soon be published on the websites of the embassies and consulates,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.

The ministry also emphasized that document security and proper identification remain a priority—passports will be issued only after a verification procedure, which ensures the protection of personal data and prevents abuse.

“We are continuing our work to ensure that Ukrainians around the world have access to modern, convenient, and people-oriented government services, wherever they may be. Using both international passport and visa services as well as national postal services. This is about the state’s respect, preserving the ties and unity of our people, and caring for and protecting our citizens,” commented Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga.

VFS Global is a commercial intermediary company that provides outsourcing services for visa, passport, and consular matters to governments and diplomatic missions in over 60 countries. It accepts documents and biometric data and issues passports through its network of visa centers.

In August 2025, the ministry reported that an automated procedure for submitting documents for notarization had been introduced for Ukrainians at 120 Ukrainian embassies and consulates worldwide.
