Sales of new passenger cars in Ukraine rose sharply in November, reaching the highest level in the last 14 months. This is evidenced by the data of Ukravtoprom, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
According to the industry association Ukravtoprom, Ukrainians registered about 8.3 thousand new cars, which is 58% more than last year and 6% more than in October.
The growth in demand is attributed to several factors: stabilization of incomes among some people, an increase in the supply of electric vehicles and hybrids, and the traditional intensification of buyers at the end of the year, when dealers offer models of the next year’s release.
Chinese brands strengthen their positions
As in previous months, the market was led by China’s BYD, a company that is actively developing the Ukrainian electric and hybrid car market. In November, it sold 1, 615 cars, far outpacing its closest competitors.
Toyota (859 cars) and Volkswagen (798 cars) took the second and third positions. The top ten also includes Renault, Skoda, Zeekr, Hyundai, Honda, BMW, and Audi.
The bestseller of the month was Renault Duster, a model that traditionally holds strong positions in the segment of affordable and practical crossovers.
Overall market dynamics
Since the beginning of the year, Ukrainians have purchased 68.9 thousand new passenger cars, up 7.5% year-on-year. This indicates a gradual recovery of the car market, which suffered a significant drop in the first years of the full-scale war.
The previous month, in October, the market also showed positive dynamics, with almost 7.8 thousand new cars sold, with 71% of buyers being individuals.
