Ukrainians will be paid from 450 to 3100 UAH on Independence Day: who will receive it

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to make one-time cash payments on Independence Day. This was announced by the government’s representative in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

This year, hundreds of thousands of citizens will receive assistance, including war veterans, victims of Nazi persecution, and family members of fallen defenders.

The payments will be made until August 24, 2025, and have clearly defined amounts depending on the recipient’s status.

The largest amount – UAH 3,100 – will be paid to people with war-related disabilities of group I, as well as those who have special services to the country. For people with disabilities of group II , UAH 2,900 is provided, and for group III – UAH 2,700.

Combatants, injured participants of the Revolution of Dignity, as well as former minor prisoners of concentration camps and children born in places of forced detention will be paid UAH 1,000.

Family members of deceased war veterans, defenders of Ukraine, as well as wives or husbands of deceased persons with war-related disabilities who have not remarried will receive UAH 650.

For war veterans, former prisoners of concentration camps, persons forcibly taken to forced labor, children of partisans and underground fighters, and other participants in the fight against the National Socialist regime behind enemy lines, the amount of UAH 450 is provided.

Theallowance is paid annually. In 2024, more than 471,000 pensioners received this support, which is paid automatically along with their pensions.

Servicemen and women and other persons in service who are not pensioners receive the allowance through the accounts of the military units, institutions or organizations where they serve.

If a person is eligible for the payment but has not received it by October 1, he or she can apply to the Pension Fund of Ukraine and receive the benefit by November 1 of the current year.
