Ukrainians are to be obliged to listen to the anthem every day – refusal to do so is to be fined

On July 7, a petition was registered on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine with a proposal to play the Ukrainian anthem every morning at 09:00 in all Ukrainian cities after a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the war, and to impose a fine on those who ignore it, the petition says.

This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".

Despite the fact that many cities in the country have already introduced a mandatory minute of silence before the start of the working day to honor the memory of those soldiers who gave their lives for Ukraine, the author of the petition, Pavlo Sivashchenko, proposes to play the national anthem of our country over the loudspeaker so that everyone, without exception, pays tribute not only to the fallen soldiers but also to the victims of Russian aggression, because during the full-scale war, many civilians, including children, have died.

Thus, the author of the petition believes, this ritual will become an important symbol of the unity of the Ukrainian people, will positively influence the consciousness of citizens and will create a new level of respect for the victims of war.

“With this petition, the community of concerned Ukrainians demands that a minute of silence be made “total and inevitable” so that “every iron” in Ukraine, in every locality of Ukraine, “says”: stop, honor the memory of those who died for Ukraine,” the author of the petition wrote.

Since every major city and town across the country has loudspeakers that inform the population about the danger of Russian attacks, the petitioner suggested that the Ukrainian anthem should also be played daily as a tribute to the memory of Ukrainians who died because of Russia.

If a person publicly ignores the minute of silence, the petition states that there should be administrative liability for this, i.e., the offender may be fined.
