Ukrainians are warned about the risks of traveling to Egypt: which is the most dangerous region

The security situation in some regions of Egypt, despite the generally stable political situation in the country, is complex and unpredictable. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.
The most dangerous region remains the north of the Sinai Peninsula, where the state of emergency imposed by the Egyptian authorities in previous years is in effect and the anti-terrorist operation against the Islamic State militants continues.
“Risks of terrorist and other extremist manifestations persist throughout the country, particularly in the capital Cairo and resort cities. At the same time, attacks may be indiscriminate and without warning, and both government and civilian targets may be targeted. High security risks remain for visitors to all religious institutions in Egypt,” the statement said.
It is noted that the overall impact on the situation in Egypt is caused by hostilities in neighboring Libya, Sudan and the Gaza Strip, as well as the tense situation in the Red Sea due to attacks on shipping by Yemeni Houthis.
The high level of solidarity of the Egyptian society with the population of the Gaza Strip causes significant risks for foreign citizens who may be associated with the State of Israel.
