Ukraine will be hit by a powerful magnetic storm: it will last 2 days

12 November 2024 05:14

A new series of magnetic storms will hit the Earth, with a K-index of 9. On November 13 and 14, Ukrainians will face a geostorm. This was reported by the Space Weather Prediction Center, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

Experts note that in November 2024, magnetic storms are particularly strong. The storm, which began on the weekend, will end on November 11-12, its intensity at the beginning of the week is estimated at 5 points, and a decline in activity is expected.

However, after this storm, a new geomagnetic storm will hit the Earth. on November 13-14, new magnetic storms will hit the Earth, with a K-index of 9.

According to Meteoagent, the calm days will be from November 15 to 17, when no noticeable geomagnetic disturbances are expected.

Geomagnetic storms are classified according to the level of power – K-index – from 2 to 9. The higher the K-index, the stronger the storm and its consequences and impact on people and equipment.

Note that the forecast is subject to change as solar researchers update their data every three hours.

For those who are dependent on weather changes, it is especially important to be careful these days and pay attention to how they feel.

Health hazards

Magnetic storms are natural phenomena associated with solar activity, and although they rarely pose a serious danger, it is important to understand their impact.

Magnetic storms do not pose a serious health risk to most people. However, some studies indicate that mild disorders such as headaches, dizziness, insomnia, or deterioration of health in meteorologically sensitive people may occur during strong magnetic storms.

To reduce the potential impact of magnetic storms, it is recommended to follow these tips

  • avoid excessive outdoor exposure during the peak moments of the storm;
  • limit physical activity;
  • get plenty of rest;
  • drink plenty of fluids;
  • avoid stressful situations.

People with serious chronic diseases should consult a doctor about additional precautions during strong magnetic storms.
