                                                                            EXCLUSIVE
Forecaster Natalia Golenya commented exclusively for "Komersant Ukrainian" on the impact of the powerful Genoa cyclone, which is currently determining the weather in Poland and partially affecting Ukraine. According to her, the cyclone has already brought rains to some regions of the country, and its influence will last at least until tomorrow, causing precipitation, thunderstorms and gusty winds.
“It has already caused rains. Tomorrow, it will determine the weather from the west of Ukraine. Plus Zhytomyr and Vinnytsia regions,”
– noted Golenya.
She explained that the center of the cyclone is currently located near Brest, but its atmospheric fronts will continue to affect the western regions of Ukraine, in particular Zhytomyr and Vinnytsia regions, where rain is expected tomorrow.
The expert clarified that the cyclone will move towards Poland, but its peripheral fronts will still cause unstable weather in Ukraine.
Speaking about the possible impact on Kyiv and the Kyiv region, Golenia noted that the probability of precipitation in the capital is approximately 50%.
“In the Kyiv region, the front should be expected tomorrow evening – it is now somewhere along the Zhytomyr-Vinnytsia line. Moreover, it is not active now. In the afternoon, it may become more active in the evening. But after it intensifies, there may be short-term rains with thunderstorms in the western part of the regions and in the north. In Kyiv, it is questionable, 50-50,”
– the forecaster explained.
As for the temperature, the forecaster said that tomorrow the weather will remain hot in Ukraine, with temperatures of 30-32 degrees. However, on July 11-12, the atmospheric front will shift to the northeast, precipitation will stop, and the air temperature will drop to 25-28 degrees.
Golenya drew special attention to the western regions of Ukraine, in particular Transcarpathia and Prykarpattia, where significant rains are expected throughout the day tomorrow.
“The cyclone will determine significant rains today and tomorrow. And even tomorrow, heavy rains are expected in Zakarpattia and Prykarpattia throughout the day. It will even be the second level of danger, orange,”
– the expert emphasized.
Thus, the Genoese cyclone, which is currently affecting Poland, partially affects Ukraine, bringing rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds. It will have the greatest impact on the western regions, where the orange level of danger is expected due to heavy precipitation. At the same time, the temperature will remain high until July 11-12, after which it is expected to drop.
